Subject: Rosettes from No. California Doxie Speciality
I'm Kathy Goodwin who, aside from having English Setters, is the picture framing vendor at Southern California dog shows. I just framed up the "Best of Winners" and "Winners" rosettes from the 8/5/11 Northern Cal Doxie specialty and I had to let you know just how much I liked your rosettes. They were very cute (loved the paw prints on the bottom of the streamers), appropriate for a regional specialty and, very important to me, extremely well made. For what its worth, I've been framing dog show rosettes since 1994 and this is the first time I've ever sent a written complement to a rosette creator. Over the years, I've found so many other rosettes have been cheaply/sloppily made, or "too over the top" or just too plain. Conversely, I thought your Nor Cal Doxie rosettes were "just right".
Truly yours, Kathy Goodwin

Subject: Northern CA. Dachshund Club ribbon
Funny how small a world it is - Catlin brought home a lot of ribbons yesterday made by you - I have to say the Best of Breed ribbon is fabulous !!!! She took 2 dogs and was WD,BW on one and won Variety and then the Breed on another.

Joyce has been a valued friend for many years. When she started her ribbon company, I used her immediately and found her products to be original and well done. Joyce is savvy to both the show ring and the field so placing an order is so easy as she understands the fancy.

The trial where my old dog Ice earned his PAX agility title did not offer any special ribbons for it. The PAX is a fairly recent title for AKC and not that many dogs have earned it as yet. As a consequence, a lot of the clubs don't have the PAX in their ribbon collection. So, I had nothing except a little, black double-q ribbon to commemorate Ice becoming the first English Setter PAX. I instead commissioned Joyce Weichsl to make one. It arrived in the mail yesterday and it is SENSATIONAL! Red, white and blue, with streamers down to the floor, it is as long as Ice is tall, with a rosette the size of a dinner plate. It is absolutely the finest PAX rosette ever! I can't enthuse about it enough - thanks, Joyce, you did a super job.

I wanted to thank you again for the wonderful job on the (Airedale) rosettes. It was the first time I ever received compliments on rosettes!

A few weeks ago, I took all the beautiful rosettes Pixie won during her show career down from the wall and boxed them up for our move. I thought the box I put them in was secure, but my cats thought differently! They were able to drag the streamers out through small openings and chew on them, and to damage the rosettes by reaching into the box and scratching the ruffles and buttons. Needless to say, I was upset. I called Joyce Weichsl at Carousel Ribbons and Rosettes and told her what happened. "No problem," she said, "just drop them off and I'll fix them." Well, to my delight, they are more than fixed! Joyce kept as much of the original rosette/streamers as possible, then repaired/replaced what was needed to restore them to the condition they were the day the judge handed them to me. In some cases, the rosettes were BETTER than new!I've attached pictures of the restored rosettes. If anyone has rosettes that need restoration, just give Joyce a call; seeing it restored will be like winning that rosette all over again.

My puppy, Elite, takes great joy in pulling my rosettes off the wall and ripping them up as he runs around with them. I was heartbroken when he destroyed one of Rival's All Breed High In Trial rosettes as it was one that has extra special meaning to me. Joyce graciously made a new one for me which I greatly appreciate!

What a great idea! No personal gain here either, but I have some beautiful rosettes that Joyce made for the LSESC Specialty a couple of years ago and they are lovely-Joyce does a great job!

I just wanted to show the beautiful work Joyce Weichsl has done. I sent her 3 smaller rosettes for the first specialty I had been to ever. I had gone to dog shows since I was 9 years old, but never a breed specialty with sweepstakes. I still remember sitting with Lucky on my lap as an 7 month old puppy watching the class bitches, then the BoB and then to my surprise they were calling our number! I didn't know Best Puppy came next! So, we scrambled back into the ring as those with more experience I'm sure got a chuckle. Those ribbons have special meaning to me but Lucky had played with them and I admit to not storing them properly. She even wanted to send them back and just make a new rosette, but for me, that would have lost the sentimentality. She understood; so instead Joyce took them and worked a small miracle to turn them into a single rosette that I can now display proudly. Thank you !!!
